Nick name: Sometimes it's now 'Smithy'!

My biggest sporting highlights were

 
  • Being the Captain of the England team when we won the World team championships last November (2000).
  • Being in the England team that debuted at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 in K.L. Malaysia. It was so brilliant to be part of such a huge sporting event. We are so used to being at only squash events, not events where there is virtually every sport you can think of taking part.
  • Also getting to the semi's of the British Open for the 3rd year running this June, it's always nice to play and do quite well in your own country.
My aim with PSC is To win every match i play for you of course! Plus for us to win the Bundesliga title and then the European Club Championships.

My idol in sport ? This has got to be Daley Thompson, who was our best athlete in dicathalon a few years back. He won lots of medals and titles and I always think that it must be so hard to excell at one athletic event, let alone ten! He also had a great attitude and it always seemed as if he was enjoying himself.
Job/Job aims or hopes ? I have always had the wish to be squash world no.1, so I'm still working on that one! I'll keep plugging away and working hard for my dream.
Other sports ? I love most sports, but I don't really get enough time to play any other sports regularly. I enjoy swimming, running, and circuit training. I also enjoy watching athletics, tennis and football on T.V. MY husband is an avid football supporter so we're always watching the English football league matches. I love watching when England fooball team play, I really hope that we win the world cup next year!
Which dream would you like to come true ? To be world no.1 in squash.
Where is your first choice for a dream holiday? I got married in Barados in March this year and it was an amazing holiday, so I would go back there anytime. It's a brilliant island with brilliant memories.
What is your favourite meal ? I absolutely love Indian food, not too hot, but i love spicey food. I also like Thai food.
My favourite drink is ? My favourite non-alcoholic drink is apple juice/ diet coke and my favourite alcoholic drink is peach schapps and sprite/bacardi breezers.
What kind of music to you like ? I like most music apart from country and western and heavy metal!, but R&B and dance music are my favourite. I like groups like 'Destinys Child', 'Missy Elliot' and 'Dido'.
What do you dislike immensly ? I really hate people when they are racist, my husband is black and nothing annoys me more than stupid racist comments. I also hate it when people are homophobic, what difference should it make if someone is straight or gay, black or white?
Your motto in life ? My motto is to smile, it's infectious! Also I really believe that you only get out of life what you put in, so go out there and live, you only get one chance!
